Bryony is looking to make 6 short films with High Schools in 2021 to add to the SAYmeTV library of films by South African Youth featured on the SAYme.TV channel.
Script-writing, Selection and Production and Distribution will follow a similar process as previous youth film development projects on this platform. Only this time a lot more will happen online!
Learners will be able to access training on how to write a short screenplay that fits the requirements of the brief. And then they will be able to submit their scripts and pitch their ideas to the selection panel – all online.
Six screenplays will be chosen for production by Bryony and her team. The production process will again be an opportunity for the young writer – along with a crew of learners and a cast of actors from the school – to engage with the process of filmmaking, and experience film skills training and personal “filmic life” coaching through the process.
Successful young writers will be the directors their films, selecting and leading a crew of learners to help them, and making all creative decisions around the film production at their school. Bryony and the SAYmeTV team will mentor them, teaching film and transformational life skills through the process.
The 6 films will feature on the SAYmeTV channel and may also be packaged as a documentary.
